RRC NWR Apprentice Selection Process 2026

The selection process is merit-based. There will be no written examination or interview for this apprentice engagement.

The merit list will be prepared using the percentage of marks obtained in Class 10 and ITI.

Merit List Calculation

The final merit percentage will be calculated using the simple average of:

  1. Percentage of marks obtained in Class 10.
  2. Percentage of marks obtained in the relevant ITI trade.

Formula:

Merit Percentage = (Class 10 Percentage + ITI Percentage) ÷ 2

Example

Suppose a candidate has obtained:

  • Class 10 marks: 80%
  • ITI marks: 90%

The merit percentage will be:

(80 + 90) ÷ 2 = 85%

The candidate’s calculated merit percentage will therefore be 85%.

For Class 10 percentage calculation, marks obtained in all subjects will be considered. ITI marks will be taken from the provisional or final certificate.

Tie-Breaking Rules

If two candidates obtain equal merit marks:

  1. The older candidate will be preferred.
  2. If their dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed the Class 10 examination earlier will be considered first.

The final merit list will be prepared unit-wise, trade-wise and community-wise.
